I’m manifesting a LOA that minds the [socio-poli-econ] gap

Economics teaches us fundamental principles about how our lives and finances are influenced by external forces beyond our control, such as the market, the federal reserve, booms and recessions, etc.

At the same time, it emphasizes the significance of personal finance at an individual level. Common advice urges us to take charge of our financial well-being by managing aspects like budgeting and saving, which are areas where we have control and personal responsibility.

And while there is a branch of the macro and the mico in economics, the discourse in LOA circles tend to leave out the macro. It tends to polarize between either..

  • (1) a laser focus on one exceptional person, usually of marginal status without understanding how something like our Zip Code can be more of a determinant of health than our genetics.

    • Shocking right?— but not Bob! Here’s the story trope you’ve likely hear a hundred times: Bob overcame so many limitations! He once grew up in a very poor neighborhood, didn’t go to college and now he’s a successful million-dollar business mogul, lost 200 pounds, and is now in the best shape of his life using the Law of Attraction. Bob's story is so inspiring, and it shows that if he can do it, anyone can!

  • or (2) ignoring or dismissing the existence of real "lack" which disregards socio-econ-political facts, such as the one [linked] above, but blaming individuals who admit their limitations because it’s “all in their head”.

    • There’s a subtle belief that victimhood is just a mindset, rather than often a lived reality created by oppressive systems that shape our world and the people who are most subjected by them

Both conveniently conform to the aforementioned individualistic narrative, while ascribing value to personal lifestyle success (i.e. financial status, a certain bodily fitness). In fact, these qualities do not deviate from “the matrix” but reinforce it.

Is this narrative truly in service to the concept of true abundance, or is it perhaps as distorted as the inability to perceive one’s own privledge, nor the systemic lack that exists in our society?

I believe in a reimagined Law of Attraction that doesn’t gaslight victims. I believe in an abundance that names, examines and holds to account these violent systems that perpetuates this lack (often against marginalized people at scale)

  • 💡Can we recognize an individual's inherent free will while ALSO acknowledging that interlocking systems of power outside of them may influence their perspective on abundance and scarcity?

  • 💡Can we empower ourselves to take personal responsibility without the victim blaming/shaming that tends to come with it?

  • 💡Can we reason that our reality is colored by the macrocosm, while not diluting it with spiritual bypass-y fluff and that our wellbeing is very much tied to this concrete reality and everyone in it?

  • 💡Can we imagine an Abundance that can see us inside these systems as well as see us outside of them, and be loved every which way?

I hope so, because that’s what I’m trying to manifest.

Happy Attracting,
C.
